The other day we were in the car, the place Gracie and I spend the most time. She was arguing with me about putting on a seat belt. Most of our destinations are close so sometimes I allow her to go without. It got to the point where every time she was going without. I told her that we weren't doing that anymore and she needed to put it on every time. Finally, I had to get really mad at her and she still wouldn't listen. So, being the fantastic, lesson learning Mom I am, I tapped the breaks. Well, maybe not so much a tap. She went flying from the back of the car all the way to the back of my seat where her face made impact. She got up screaming with a bloody nose. After she got in her seat with a seat belt on she said to me, through the tears, very dramatically,
"I.thought.you.loved.me!"
Did I feel bad? Of course! Did she learn her lesson, of course. Did I laugh? You betcha.
I don't know when you posted this......but THAT was funny!! I can see myself in that same situation!!!
ReplyDeleteI did the EXACT same thing with Tanner. He was never getting in his carseat and buckling up, so I "tapped" on the brakes. Sure enough he face planted and got a big scrape on his face. That was fun to explain to everyone for a few days.
ReplyDeleteIve done that too with ASH... Its called tough love!!! hehehe
