We were eating pancakes this morning, camping. Gracie had nutella and syrup all over her hands. She says,
"I need someone to lick my fingers."

Smile
Gracie was going through Aaron's wallet and asked,
"How come boys never smile?"
Aaron said "Why?"
Gracie, holding his license said,
"You're not smiling, Were you not married yet?"

Fire Ants
McKinley randomly will ask Gracie, "How do I look today?" She usually pops off with something cute like, "Hot as the Sun", or "Hotter than a fire", but today she topped them all.
"You are Hotter than Fire Ants!"
I don't know, Is that a compliment?

Blind Doll
Gracie was playing with the American Girl Dolls. She had glasses on one and came to McKinley and said,
"If you put the glasses on the wrong doll, will she go blind?"
Seriously, I can't make this stuff up.
Police Man
We were on our way to swimming and Gracie saw a truck with flashing lights. She yells out,
"A policeman!"
McKinley calmly says, "Uh, thats an ice cream man?"
I guess the flashing lights and annoying music was confusing to her.

Grandchilds
The latest "Gracie-ism"
Good thing her Grandma is one of the kindest women in the world.
"Mom, did you know Grandma's have to love their Grandchilds? They can't be mean to them."
Good thing her Grandma is one of the kindest women in the world.
Baby
Gracie was playing with her itouch and Elsie crawled over to her and tried to take it. Gracie looked at Aaron and said,
"This is why we don't need a baby, a naughty baby."

Look
Last night we were making caramel popcorn, well, Aaron and McKinley were making caramel popcorn. I had to rescue them. As McKin was bringing the caramel mixture to a soft boil I realized they hadn't popped any corn yet. So, I hysterically ran to the pantry to start poppin. As I'm heading there I say to Aaron, "Where's the popcorn?" He says back, "I don't know just look". Gracie pipes in and says (very dramatically, like the commercial),
"Look, look with your special eyes"
(you know, from the 1-800-contact commercial)

Freckles
When Gracie is with Ben I can guarantee there will be great blog worthy conversations.
Gracie: Ben, do you see my freckles?
Ben: Yes Gracie.
Gracie: Aren't they so cute?
Ben: Yes Gracie.
Same day, Gracie is in the bathroom needing my assistance wiping.
Gracie: Ben will you go get my Mom?
Ben (quietly): Yes Gracie.
Gracie: Ben, I told you to go get my mom!
Ben (very frustrated): I AM!
Some day when they are married they will act like a real married couple, oh wait, they already do!!!

Guinea Pig
Gracie approaches Olivia with a mattress pump in her hand and says,
"Come here, let me try something on you."
"Put this in your mouth" (of course its the end of the pump). As she pushes down and Olivia's mouth fills with air she almost falls on the ground laughing. She is such a character.

True Love
The other day we were in the car, the place Gracie and I spend the most time. She was arguing with me about putting on a seat belt. Most of our destinations are close so sometimes I allow her to go without. It got to the point where every time she was going without. I told her that we weren't doing that anymore and she needed to put it on every time. Finally, I had to get really mad at her and she still wouldn't listen. So, being the fantastic, lesson learning Mom I am, I tapped the breaks. Well, maybe not so much a tap. She went flying from the back of the car all the way to the back of my seat where her face made impact. She got up screaming with a bloody nose. After she got in her seat with a seat belt on she said to me, through the tears, very dramatically,
"I.thought.you.loved.me!"
Did I feel bad? Of course! Did she learn her lesson, of course. Did I laugh? You betcha.

This Blog
I feel as if I need to explain why I have a blog dedicated just to Gracie. I'm sure if you ask my other 4 kids they will tell you she is the favorite. That is not true. I think they were all equally as favored at 4. It is my favorite age (if you don't count newborns). I love that she is learning that she has a voice. She is at an age where she pretty much can say anything at least once! I wish, wish, wish, I would have done this with each of my kids. I decided that this is my second chance. Hopefully I can randomly add some of the other hillarious things that happen in the Johnson house. One thing I know for sure is that there is never something to blog about.
